VOODOO - a book written by Eugen Ovidiu Chirovici

At the JFK airport in New York City, a woman from Haiti is killed after an altercation with the security agents and her husband disappears without a trace, inexplicably. The case is swept under the rug by the NYPD, but the almost thirty witnesses of this drama become, one after ther other, the victimes of strange and atrocious accidents.

A private detective from Brooklyn, Drew Sanders, a modern knight who has replaced the shining armor with a leather jacket and jeans, attempts to unravel completely the yarn of this twisted drama and, finally, to save the damsel in distress.

A story that combines the tension of action with the writing of a master of suspense. The figure of Drew Sanders, tough and sensitive at the same time, full of humor but as quick with a gun as Jesse James, comes as a successful addition to such celebrated characters of sensational literature in last couple of decades as G.K. Chesterton’s Father Brown and Raymond Chandler’s Philip Marlowe.

The novel introduces us to the occult world of voodoo practices, achieving a surprising synthesis of two literary genres: the murder story and the fantasy story.
